Be a Community Care Captain
When you make the promise to be a leader within your social circle to get to #ZeroCovid, one way you can make a difference is by choosing to be a Community Care Captain.
Responsibilities of a Community Care Captain.
Helping to build and maintain a Covid Safe Network.
The group can be anywhere from 5-10 people.
You can start by texting, calling, or emailing (Share this graphic!) with those you wish to include. Tell them that you are a part of a community project that is checking on the needs and well-being of people. The best place to start is at home and with people you care about in your everyday life. You will make sure everyone has each other’s contact information and stays connected.
Weekly check-ins with members.
You will check on symptoms, basic needs, and overall well-being
Encourage participating in other communities.
Meeting with organizations like MakeGoodTogether.org, ZeroCovid.us or other communities.
Covid Safe Network Goals:
1. BUILDING A NETWORK & STAYING CONNECTED
Let’s work together to build a group of at least five people to make-up our Covid Safe Network. We will share contact information so we have access to each other.
2. DEFINING COVID BOUNDARIES
As a group, we will come to an agreement around what is and is not acceptable behavior as it relates to risk mitigation and the group’s safety. Example: We will always wear a mask and maintain physical distance, we will always let each other know if we’ve been in contact with other’s outside of our network, etc.
3. PARTICIPATING IN COVID DISCOURSE
We will build a network that has a foundation of trust, accountability and communication. Members of the network will always say something if there is any question around the health, well-being or safety of the network; and will disclose any information that could jeopardize other network member’s safety.
4. HELPING TO END THE PANDEMIC
Together, we will organize our network in ways that align with getting to #ZeroCovid, and choose to behave in ways that prioritize the health and well-being of not only our network, but of our community, AND the entire global Human Family. We will discuss tools such as green zones, mask wearing, bottom-up leadership, and shifting social norms.
